Job Description:

We are seeking a Director of Finance to join our team. The Director of Finance will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for building and overseeing all financial functions as our startup scales. This role is both strategic and hands-on—ranging from forecasting and cash flow management to implementing financial systems and guiding funding decisions. You will partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to drive financial clarity and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead all aspects of the finance function, including FP&A, accounting, reporting, and compliance
• Own budgeting and forecasting processes, providing data-driven insights to guide strategic decisions
• Develop and maintain cash flow models to ensure strong financial footing and support operational needs
• Delivers a rolling 13-week cash forecast and annual re-forecast within 5 days of each quarter close
• Lead financial reporting, including monthly close and investor-ready financial statements
• Implement scalable financial processes and systems suitable for a high-growth environment
• Establish internal controls and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Manage relationships with banks, external accountants, tax advisors
• Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors
• Provide clear financial visibility to non-financial teams and help drive a culture of accountability

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
• 10+ years of experience in finance, with at least 2 years in a startup or high-growth company
• Experience with inventory accounting
• Proven ability to manage finance in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with limited resources
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial modeling, and startup financing (venture capital, SAFE notes, etc.)
• Experience implementing or optimizing financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
• Excellent communication skills and a roll-up-your-sleeves mindset
• Prior experience preparing for or managing due diligence during fundraising
• Exposure to equity administration and cap table management
• Familiarity with biotech, consumer goods, or manufacturing startups
